Membangun AI Tatung: Peramal Digital Terinspirasi Tradisi Tatung

Belakangan ini saya menambahkan dua fitur eksperimental ke blog ini:

tAItung - peramal AI yang terinspirasi tradisi tatung
Kauchim - alat digital untuk interpretasi fortune stick (ciam si/kau cim)

Proyek ini awalnya hanya berangkat dari rasa penasaran. Dan jujur saja, hasilnya ternyata cukup menyenangkan.

Rasa Penasaran di Baliknya

Setiap tahun sekitar Cap Go Meh, selalu banyak video yang beredar online menampilkan perayaan di Indonesia, terutama dari Kalimantan.

Salah satu bagian yang paling menarik adalah kemunculan tatung, orang yang dirasuki roh melalui kritual tertentu dan menyampaikan pesan atau tuntunan simbolis.

Apakah kamu memaknainya sebagai spiritualitas, pertunjukan budaya, atau psikologi ritual, struktur praktiknya cukup menarik.

Urutannya kurang lebih seperti ini:

Orang tersebut memasuki keadaan kerasukan
Sebuah visi atau tanda simbolis muncul
Makna dari tanda tersebut diinterpretasikan

Struktur ini langsung membuat saya berpikir:

Ini terasa seperti sesuatu yang bisa disimulasikan AI dengan cukup baik.

Jadi saya membuat sebuah eksperimen kecil untuk menguji ide tersebut.

Struktur Sang Peramal

Respons peramal mengikuti struktur naratif yang ketat:

TRANCE
Medium kerasukan dan merasakan kekuatan tak kasatmata.

VISION
Sebuah pemandangan simbolis muncul, sering kali melibatkan alam, tempat, atau gambaran mistis.

INTERPRETATION
Makna dari visi tersebut dijelaskan dalam kaitannya dengan pertanyaan pengguna.

Struktur ini bekerja dengan baik karena memberikan pola penceritaan yang jelas pada sistem.

Alih-alih mencoba meramalkan masa depan, peramal hanya menghasilkan tuntunan simbolis.

Desain Prompt Itu Penting

Sebagian besar pekerjaan di balik layar sebenarnya adalah soal desain dan struktur prompt, bukan soal AI-nya sendiri.

Sebagai contoh, respons peramal sangat bergantung pada imaji simbolis seperti:

angin
sungai
lentera
kuil
kabut
gunung
daun yang berguguran

Simbol-simbol ini membantu menghasilkan visi yang terasa mistis dan beratmosfer.

Tanpa prompt yang terstruktur dan kosakata simbolik, responsnya akan terasa jauh kurang menarik.

Dua Eksperimen Kecil

tAItung mensimulasikan pengalaman berkonsultasi dengan seorang tatung.

Kamu mengajukan pertanyaan, dan peramal akan merespons dengan:

momen kerasukan
sebuah visi simbolis
sebuah interpretasi

Tujuannya bukan untuk meramal masa depan, tetapi untuk memberikan jawaban yang reflektif dan simbolis.

Kauchim

Eksperimen kedua adalah Kauchim, yang terinspirasi oleh tradisi fortune sticks (kau cim).

Dalam praktik tradisional, seseorang mengocok tabung berisi stik bambu bernomor sampai satu stik jatuh. Setiap nomor merujuk pada satu syair peruntungan.

Dalam versi ini:

Sebuah “stik” digital diambil
Peramal menginterpretasikan maknanya
Pengguna menerima pesan simbolis

Ini pada dasarnya adalah reinterpretasi modern dari format ritual lama.

Guardrails

Karena alat-alat ini bersifat publik, saya juga menambahkan beberapa pagar pengaman sederhana:

batas jumlah permintaan
validasi format
penyaringan input bermasalah
pembersihan (sanitasi) respons sebelum ditampilkan

Tujuannya sederhana: menjaga sistem tetap stabil dan mencegah penyalahgunaan yang jelas-jelas merugikan.

Kenapa Membangun Hal Seperti Ini?

Sebagian besar alasannya: karena bereksperimen itu menyenangkan.

Internet penuh dengan aplikasi AI yang sangat serius seperti alat produktivitas, asisten coding, sistem riset.

Tapi kadang menyenangkan juga membangun sesuatu yang agak nyeleneh.

Peramal digital yang terinspirasi tradisi budaya berada di antara:

penceritaan
budaya rakyat
rasa ingin tahu manusia tentang masa depan

Dan kombinasi itu ternyata cukup menghibur.

The Day the Bank Changed

It’s been a long time since I last wrote on My blog & Medium. Somewhere between work, deadlines, and telling myself “I’ll write again next week”, writing quietly disappeared.

But today, a small trip to the bank made me want to write again.

I went to the bank with my boy.

The mission sounded noble: teach him how to add money to his savings account. A proper life lesson. Financial responsibility. Parenting achievement unlocked.

In my head, I already knew how this would go.

Fill deposit slip. Hand money to teller. Receive stamped receipt. Go home feeling like a responsible adult.

Simple.

The Confident Tech Guy Walks In

I walked into the bank feeling confident.

I work in tech. I deal with systems, automation, APIs, servers, AI, all the modern stuff.

Surely depositing money wouldn’t surprise me.

When I walked in, my instinct immediately kicked in.

I went straight to the table near the entrance, scanning for the familiar deposit slips, you know, the small papers we used to fill with careful handwriting and questionable pen quality.

Except… I couldn’t find any.

While I was still looking around like someone searching for a relic from the past, the security guard approached and asked what I wanted to do.

“Deposit money,” I said confidently.

He simply pointed me toward the teller.

No forms. No paperwork preparation phase. Just… go directly to the counter.

The teller asked for the account number.

She took the cash.

She counted it, confirmed the amount, then calmly said:

“Please approve from your mobile banking app sir.”

I froze for a second.

Approve… from my phone?

I opened the app, and there it was, a transaction approval request already waiting.

The teller wasn’t waiting for my signature.

She was waiting for my tap.

At that exact moment, I realized something slightly embarrassing:

I came thinking I understood technology… but technology had quietly moved ahead without informing me.

When You Think You’re Tech-Savvy

I always considered myself reasonably tech-aware.

I follow new frameworks. I experiment with infrastructure. I read about AI breakthroughs before they become mainstream.

Yet somehow, banking workflows evolved in a direction I never noticed.

Turns out, technology doesn’t only advance where we look.

While I was learning about cloud systems and inference models, banks were redesigning everyday human processes.

And life gently reminded me:

Being “tech-savvy” doesn’t mean knowing everything. It just means you’re used to learning new things.

The Unexpected Cost of Teaching

After finishing the deposit, we walked back to the parking area.

Parking fee: Rp4.000.

And suddenly I had a funny realization.

Technically… saving money today cost me money.

I paid parking, spent time, and used fuel. All to deposit cash that I could have transferred instantly from my phone while sitting at home.

Financial efficiency: questionable.

Parenting experience: priceless.

Because the goal wasn’t optimization.

It was experience.

My son saw how banks work. He saw money being handled. He experienced something physical, not just digital numbers moving on a screen.

And that matters.

Life Is Continuous Learning

I went there thinking I was teaching my son.

Instead, both of us learned something.

He learned how saving works.

I learned that no matter how much experience we accumulate, the world keeps evolving faster than our assumptions.

Life isn’t about reaching a point where you finally “know enough.”

It’s about staying curious enough to keep learning.

Sometimes from books. Sometimes from work. Sometimes from a bank teller asking you to approve a transaction on your phone.

Moral of the Story

Next time?

I’ll probably just transfer the money to his account.

Cheaper. Faster. No parking fee.

But I regret nothing.

Because sometimes a small financial loss buys something more valuable:

A shared moment. A new lesson. A reminder that growth never stops.

And maybe that’s the real savings account we’re all building, experience compounded over time.

Pirates, Punks, and the Jolly Roger Flying Over Indonesia

A few weeks ago, somewhere in Indonesia, a flag with a smiling skull and straw hat fluttered in the wind. Was it:

A cosplay convention?
A One Piece fan meetup?
A teenage rebellion? According to some, it was something far more dangerous: civil unrest. Yes, we’re talking about the Jolly Roger, the infamous pirate flag. Reborn through anime and raised by angry civilians who are done staying quiet. And somehow, this flag of fictional piracy is starting to make the government… sweating.

☠️ The Flag That Screams “I’m Done Playing Your Game”

The Jolly Roger, historically, was a symbol of rebellion against the state. Pirates in the 17th and 18th centuries weren’t just thieves with boats, they were outlaws of empire, rejecting kings, borders, and trade monopolies. They created floating societies with shared loot, voted captains, and no national allegiance. To governments, that was more dangerous than cannons. Fast forward 300 years and the same skull is now on T-shirts, tattoos, and the sails of Thousand Sunny in One Piece. It’s a goofy anime flag, right? Except when people start raising it in protest, suddenly, the government sees a threat.

🧷 Wait, Is That a Punk Thing Too?

This isn’t the first time Indonesia got nervous over a skull. Not too long ago, officials were panicking about Anarko, a loosely defined group of punk-looking youths who didn’t have jobs, homes, or apparently the desire to fill out government paperwork. They looked dirty, wore all black, maybe had nose rings. So obviously they must be planning a revolution, right? In reality, Anarko wasn’t much of a movement , it was mostly just broke punks trying to survive and occasionally scribbling angry graffiti. But even that was enough to cause headlines and arrests. Why? Because they carried an ideology:

Anti-authoritarian
Anti-capitalist
Anti-everything structured And perhaps most offensively: they just didn’t care. That’s terrifying, not the violence, but the indifference. You can’t bribe someone who doesn’t want your job.

🏴 The One Piece Phenomenon: From Pirate King to People’s Symbol

Now imagine that vibe, but multiplied. One Piece is one of the most popular anime in the world, and the Straw Hat Pirates aren’t your average thugs. They’re:

Fugitives
Anti-establishment
Fighting corrupt world governments
United by friendship, not flags So when Indonesian youth raise the Straw Hat Jolly Roger, it’s not because they want to steal ships, but it’s because they’ve found a symbol that says:

“I don’t trust this system anymore.” And unlike Anarko, this isn’t 30 punks with Sharpies. It’s potentially millions of fans, disillusioned, connected, and increasingly frustrated by:

Corruption scandals
Rising prices
Economic stagnation
Endless online speeches from people in suits who still don’t get it

🤔 Why Governments Fear Cartoons

It’s easy to say “they’re just kids with flags”. but governments aren’t stupid. They know symbols matter. They know that once a symbol starts carrying real meaning, it can unite people faster than political parties can divide them. Especially when that symbol:

Doesn’t belong to any religion
Isn’t tied to a political party
Comes with a built-in narrative of rebellion, loyalty, and justice The Jolly Roger in One Piece isn’t just a skull, it’s a promise:

“We don’t follow your laws. We have our own code.” Now imagine thousands of discontent citizens raising that flag. Not joking. Not ironic. Just… done playing along. Yeah, that’s scary, not because of violence, but because of imagination. And governments really hate uncontrolled imagination.

🎤 Final Thought: Maybe It’s Not the Flag That’s the Problem

Let’s be honest. Nobody raising the Straw Hat flag is actually planning to plunder Surabaya or hijack a cargo ship in Batam. They’re just fed up. And when people start looking to fictional pirates for hope and meaning, maybe the question shouldn’t be:

“Why are they raising a pirate flag?” But rather: “Why do they feel like pirates in their own country?” If the system worked, really worked, nobody would be singing about a rubber man trying to become Pirate King. They’d be too busy living good lives. But until then? 🏴‍☠️ “Yo-ho-ho, and a government afraid of a straw hat.”
